Performance Evaluations (Unclassified Employees Not Evaluated Through Compass)

Applicability

 

This policy applies to unclassified LSS employees who are not evaluated through Compass. Unclassified SSP employees who are not evaluated through Compass will follow any applicable Department of Education policy.

 

Policy

 

Employees will be evaluated each year on a 4-point scale:

 

 

Evaluations will be based on the employee’s performance of the duties and responsibilities in the employee’s job description during the evaluation year.

 

Unclassified employees are at-will employees and may be disciplined, terminated, or subject to other corrective action at any time, with or without cause. 

 

Review

 

An employee who disagrees with an evaluation rating of Unsuccessful or Developing may request that the SSD Superintendent, or designee, review the evaluation. The SSD Superintendent will not assign anyone in the employee’s chain of command, up to the School or Division Director level, to review the evaluation. To request a review, the employee must submit a written request to the Human Resources Office, within two weeks of receiving the evaluation. The employee must include an explanation of the disagreement, and any supporting documentation the employee would like considered.

 

The SSD Superintendent or designee will meet with the employee and evaluator before issuing a decision. The SSD Superintendent or designee may change the evaluation, and the decision is final.

 

Records

 

The Human Resources Office will maintain personnel evaluation records.
